Rituals
Rituals are reoccuring moments and actions that are always performed the same on a day to day basis. They are an important part in everyday life of a child. Children who have not yet developed a sense of time find these especially important as they help the children to orientate themselves to a daily routine. Through the rituals the educator creates a predictable and reliable environment. Our children therefore feel safe and secure.
Daily rituals are for example:
- A farewell ritual to the parents
- The morning circle
- The mealtime Routine
- Tooth brushing after mealtimes
- Nap times
- Guided activities throughout the day
- The carrying out of singing and story time
We include the four seasons in our planning and throughout the year we celebrate reoccuring rituals and events such as:
- Birthday celebrations
- Light Festival (Räbeliechtliumzug)
- Our annual summer party
- National Holidays like Easter and Christmas
